Joseph S. Veckov

Joseph S. Veckov, 54, of Duncansville, passed away peacefully on Sunday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of Stephen R. and Joyce (Byrnes) Veckov. He married the love of his life, Brenda Hampton in 1988.

Surviving are his wife; two sons: Adam (Erika), Zachary (Breana), both of Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren: Nolan, Emily, Elias, Mason; two sisters: Janice Kling (Tim) in SC, Stephanie of Hollidaysburg; a brother, Matthew (Lucretia) of Duncansville; a niece, Taylor; and three nephews: Nicholas, Garrett, and Trevor.

Joseph was a 1984 graduate of Altoona Area High School and the Altoona Vo-Tech. He worked as a mail carrier for the Altoona Post Office for thirty years, and also spent many years coaching Little League Baseball.

Joe was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and the Swiss Rifle Club. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Duncansville. He enjoyed bowling, golf, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his precious grandchildren.

A private funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of the family.
