Joseph W. “Jay” Knipmeyer, 60, of Summerhill, passed away on Monday at UPMC Presbyterian. He was born in Independence, KS, son of Wayne and Judith (White) Knipmeyer. He first married Amy (Helsel) who preceded him in death in 1999. He then married Juleen Wilson in 2013.
Surviving are his wife of 11 years; a daughter, Jaylena; two sons: Wesley and Joshua; his parents in OK; a sister, Janell Ballew; and a brother, Keith.
Jay was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Mae, and two sons, Jeremy and Justin.
He graduated from Independence Bible School in 1983 and from Penn View Bible Institute in 2005.
Jay was an over the road truck driver, most recently employed by Stuckey Automotive.
He attended the Johnstown Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 1-3pm Sunday at Mt. Sinai God’s Missionary Church, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 3pm.
