Joseph S. "Wes" Dell

Joseph S. “Wes” Dell, 101, of Duncansville, passed away Wednesday at the Presbyterian Village, Hollidaysburg.  He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Harvey and Pearl (Snare) Dell.  He married Katherine Detrick in 1942 in Winchester, VA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, Luther, and a nephew, Terry.

Joseph was a 1938 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and served as a Sgt in the US Army Air Corps in Europe during WWII.

He was proprietor of Dell’s hardware in Duncansville and was a life-member of Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Joseph was an 80-year member of Hollidaysburg Lodge No. 220 F&AM, a 75-year member of the AASR Valley of Harrisburg, and a 70-year member of the Jaffa Shriners, where he was formerly in the Chanters.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, Jan 11, 2022, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, with Rev. Jaime G. Olson officiating.  Interment at Alto Reste Park.
