June T. (Smith) Eger

June 8, 1935 – April 19, 2025

June T. (Smith) Eger, 89, of Duncansville, passed away Saturday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.  She was born in Glen White, daughter of the late Stephen and Alice (Noland) Smith.  She married Edward C. Eger Sr., who preceded her in her death in 2019 after sharing 66 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette Muir and husband Kent of Duncansville; four sons: Edward Jr. and wife Sue of Hollidaysburg, Daniel of Roaring Spring, Stephen and wife Bonnie of Altoona, and Barry of Cresson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Smith.

She was preceded in death by three siblings: Peggy Myers, Mary Melhorn, and Gary Smith.

June graduated from Gallitzin High School in 1953 and retired from the Presbyterian Home after 23 years in housekeeping.

She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Duncansville.

June enjoyed reading, camping, and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 4-6pm on Wednesday April 23, 2025, and from 10am to 11:30am Thursday, April 24 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.  A funeral Mass will follow at 12 noon on Thursday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Duncansville, with Fr. Jeremy Mohler, Celebrant.
