Kenneth H. Wertz Sr., 88, of Hollidaysburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday. He was born at home in Loop Station, son of the late Virgil M. and Helen E. (Snowberger) Wertz. He married Dorothy M. Martin in 1961, she preceded him in death in 2018.
Surviving are his daughters: Genee Knab and husband Dave of Hollidaysburg, and Lynette Sollenberger and husband Earl of Curryville; a son, Kenneth H. Jr. and wife Robin of West Loop; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert E. of Hollidaysburg.
Ken was preceded in death by a son, Timothy, and a brother, Donald L. He was a 1949 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and was self employed as a farmer. Ken was a member of West Loop Missionary Church, where he formerly served as a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and a Sunday School Superintendent.
He enjoyed being in the outdoors and he had a special love for the kids in his church.
Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at West Loop Missionary Church, and 10:00 am to12:00 pm on Friday, at the Church, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm.
