Laura Louise (Greene) Shaffer, 81, of Roaring Spring, passed away Monday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center. She was born in Lucerne Mines, daughter of the late James and Gertrude M. (Steffey) Greene. Louise married Lincoln E. Shaffer in 1958.
Surviving are her husband of sixty two years; two sons: Kenneth (Kimberly) of Charles Town WV, and James (Patricia) of Roaring Spring; four grandchildren: Leah Babb (Ben), Andrew (Goldie), Keri Bequeath (Nicholas), and Sarah Yingling (Shaden); five great grandchildren: Delaney and Calvin Babb, Evelyn and Warren Bequeath, and baby Shaffer; two sisters: Lorraine Moody and Elva Greene O’Hearn Flemming; a brother, Raymond “Ed” Greene; and two brothers-in-law that were more like sons: Bill Petite (Jeanne) and Tom Petitt (Julie).
She was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Wilson, and two brothers: Rev. Harry and James Elwood Greene.
Louise was a 1957 graduate of Indiana High School. She was a member of Juniata Valley Gospel Church, and attended Martinsburg Church of God. Louise loved baking for others, talking politics, and, most importantly, being a 100% wife and a 100% mother.
All services are private.
A celebration of life service will be held at a future date.
