Leroy "Bill" Stell

June 15, 1936 - September 2, 2023

Leroy “Bill” Stell Jr., 87, of Duncansville, passed away Saturday.            

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Leroy Sr. and Rose Brunner. He married Carol Heiss in August 1990.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years; 4 daughters: Debbie Yingling (Jeff), Teresa Bennett (Bill), Vicki Mainello (Joe), and Angela Lombardi (Pat); 3 sons: William (Joni), Michael (Nancy), and Jon (Jolene); 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Lois Tesmer, Patty Edmiston, and Rose Laytin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Marilyn Keesee and Sandy Mayhue.

Bill served in the U.S. Airforce and worked as a diesel mechanic for many years at Chemical Lehman and retired from Curry Supply Company.

He was a life member of Duncansville Volunteer Fire Dept. and was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.                   

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6pm, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Fr. Allen P. Zeth, Celebrant. Private interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.
