Lincoln E. Shaffer, 88, of Roaring Spring, passed away peacefully Thursday at his residence. He was born in Boswell, son of the late Edward and Gladys (Lentz) Shaffer. He married Laura Louise (Greene) in 1958, who preceded him in death in 2020 after sharing 62 years of marriage.
Surviving are his son, James and wife, Patricia of Roaring Spring; a daughter in law, Kimberly Shaffer; four grandchildren: Leah Babb (Ben), Andrew Shaffer (Goldie), Keri Bequeath (Nicholas), and Sarah Yingling (Shaden); eight great grandchildren: Delaney, Calvin, Evelyn, Warren, Jolene, Andrew Jr., Arizona, and Savannah; a sister, Yvonne Johnston and a brother, Bill Petite.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Shaffer in 2025; and three siblings: Dennis Shaffer, Tom Petitt, and Myra Jean Brink.
Lincoln retired in 1999 from Conrail as a stenciler.
He was a member of the Juniata Valley Gospel Church and attended Martinsburg Church of God.
Lincoln enjoyed woodworking, taking and printing photos, playing solitaire on his iPad, and Penn State sports. He especially loved spending time with his family.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30am Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Martinsburg Church of God with Pastor Doug Williams, officiating. A time of sharing will immediately follow the funeral service.
