Linda J. (Kimmel) McGlathery

Linda J. McGlathery (formerly Linda J. Kimmel) passed away peacefully after an extended illness.  She was the daughter of the late Ross and Mildred Kimmel of Claysburg, PA.  She was married to the love of her life, the late Allen C. McGlathery, from August 17, 1968 to the date of his death, August 10, 2009.

Surviving is her daughter, Tricia Gagliardi and husband, Dave, of Downingtown, PA, sister Eileen Kimmel of Dover, DE, as well as nieces, nephews and numerous great nieces/nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Kimmel of Tyrone, PA. 

After graduating from Claysburg High School, she worked at PennDOT, where she met her husband of 41 years, Allen.  She formed and led her own baton group, Linda’s Lassies, for several years in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The majority of her career was spent at Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission, transitioning to part-time employment alongside her husband, at the EADS Group, where she worked until her retirement.

Linda was a devoted wife to Allen, loving mother to Tricia and doting caretaker to numerous furry family membes over her lifetime, all of whom were likely there to welcome her home. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her. 

At her request, no services were to be held and internment private.  Should one choose, donations can be made in her memory to Best Friends Animal Society, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
