Margaret Mary Dangerfield, J.D.
January 1, 1945 — April 10, 2025
Margaret Mary (Dallas) Dangerfield, daughter of Anne I. Nolan and Charles W. McGuirk, Jr. of Albany, New York, died peacefully Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania at home, with her son, Robbie, and hospice care by her side, after a long struggle with cancer and a recent series of debilitating falls.
Meggie, as she was known to family, and Meg to her friends, was born January 1, 1945, sister to Marianne Bechet, Patricia McGuirk, and the late Charles W. McGuirk III.
Meggie grew up in Albany, New York where she attended the Academy of the Holy Names. She graduated The State University of New York at Albany, Cum Laude and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate with high honors.
Mommy met Robert V. Dallas, “Bob” in Albany, NY while he was in medical school and married shortly thereafter in 1966.
Mom is survived by her daughter, Heather Dallas Flynn; son, Robert Matthew Dallas; six grandchildren: Caroline, Sarah, Emily, Katie, Nolan, and Charlotte and three great grandsons.
After her divorce and subsequent annulment from Dr. Robert V. Dallas, she married life-long friend and widower, George Byron Dangerfield of Rockport, Massachusetts in 2005.
Mom and George loved traveling to all places with an ocean or water view. From Aruba, Hawaii, and Florida, as well as, trips along the rivers of Europe, including a trip to the Vatican for the Pope’s blessing. They relished spending time and holidays with family, it was always about family to Mom. She was married to George for nearly 18 years until his death in January of 2023.
Mom practiced law in Hollidaysburg, PA for nearly 30 years, where she always said “everyday is a Holiday in Hollidaysburg.” She spent her career defending the rights of families and children.
Mom was a devout Roman Catholic and after years of attending church services at St. Michael’s and St, Mary’s with Mom, George converted to Catholicism as well. They were active in the community, attending Blairmont social events, the symphony, local school performances and dinners with friends.
Mom will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but will be long remembered and loved like she said good night, “I love you with all my heart and both my feet.” Sweet dreams Mommy.
Mommy was Robbie’s best friend and forever guiding light. He will miss their daily calls, her words of advice, her calming effect, and her total love and commitment to her family.
A private Committal is planned at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.
