Mary Ellen Leamer, 77, of Duncansville, passed away Saturday at Epworth Manor. She was born in Aliquippa, daughter of the late James M. and Mary Ellen (Benton) Leamer. Surviving are a daughter, Jamie Guilford and husband Jason of York; two grandchildren: Joshua and Charlotte; nieces: Elizabeth and Lesley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Ventre.
Mary Ellen graduated from Hollidaysburg High School and the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing, retiring as a nurse from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, and enjoyed big band and jazz music, reading, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family.
All services are private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. Interment at New St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the American Heart Association in honor of the deceased.
