Mary M. (Woods) Metris

March 21, 1932 - November 17th, 2024

 Mary "Marty" Metris, 92, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at UPMC Montefiore.  She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Helsel) Woods.  She married Charles Metris, who preceded her in death in 1988.

Surviving are two daughters: Michele “Shelley” A. Reilly and Martina A. Johnson; two grandchildren: James Johnson and Bree Reilly; and siblings; Sally Janerio and John (Pat) Woods.

Mary Graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1950, attended Oakland University in Michigan and served in the US Army.  She retired from Meijer Inc. in sales and security.

She was deeply devoted to her faith, attending church daily and finding great joy in her spiritual connection with God.  She cherished her weekly bingo, where her skills and luck often led to exciting wins.  A passionate sports fan, she enthusiastically supported Michigan and Pennsylvania teams, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday Nov 25, 2024 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, with Fr. Alan E. Thomas, Celebrant.  Private committal at New St. Mary Cemetery.
