MaryLou Bridget “Brig” (Foley) McNulty, 95, of Butler, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at Concordia at the Orchard. She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Harry and Edna (O’Neil) Foley. She married Dennis T. McNulty who preceded her in death in 2021.
Surviving are two daughters: Cynthia McNulty of Pittsburgh and Margaret McNulty and husband Dean Baker of Hollidaysburg; two sons: Michael and wife Sun in FL, and Dr. Timothy and wife Cherie of Butler; a sister, Margaret Weisberg in CA; numerous grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anna Katherine Meyer; and a brother, Harry J. Foley.
Bridget was ordained as an Oblate of the Benedictine Order through Saint Vincent Archabbey Oblates, Latrobe, PA on May 13, 1977. Bridget was shaped by and devoted to her Catholic faith, especially the Church’s social teachings concerning the poor. She instilled in her children the moral obligation to care for the poor and vulnerable, resulting in each of her children continuing her lifelong service. Her enthusiasm for reading and music manifested in a home full of books and music, resulting in her children’s love of learning.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Patton, Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, and when she moved to Hollidaysburg in 1997, became a member of St Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care provided by the Concordia at the Orchard, Butler, PA, and want to thank the nurses, aides, administrators, and staff of the home.
A funeral Mass will be held at St Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, PA on Saturday, Jan 25, 2025 at 10am. Committal at Calvary Cemetery.
