Mervin L. Sollenberger Sr., 65, of Ashville, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of Alice (Bossler) Drass and the late Mervin B. Sollenberger. He married Pam Cross in 2008.

Surviving are his wife of Ashville; a son, Mervin L. Jr.; a step son, Mark Cross (Allison); a stepdaughter, Michelle Friedenberger (Mike); three grandsons raised in the home: David, Zakk, and Brayden Mannarino; a sister, Renee Weidlich (Frank); a brother, Thomas Drass; a uncle. Blair; a special friend, Mike LeComte; and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosanna Sollenberger; a stepson, David Mannarino and his stepfather, Richard Drass.

Mervin served in the US Marines and worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Gallitzin American Legion Post 174.

Mervin enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends at cook outs.
