Mitchell Eugene Fagans, 66, Hollidaysburg, passed away unexpectedly Friday at his home.
He was born in Lorain, Ohio, the son of Wilfred "Pete" Fagans and Alicia Fagans. He was married to Rebecca Clark-Fagans.
Upon graduation from Lorain High School in 1972, Mitch began an adventure through life that would take him across America. He hitchhiked east, south to Florida, west to California and then north to British Columbia. In the end, he would settle and make a life in Pennsylvania. He was an artist, fisherman and jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed working in construction and leather crafts, and spending a great deal of time helping the disabled. Gregarious by nature, he was a friend to everyone and always had a story to tell. Although an avid sports fan who rooted for his beloved Eagles, he always cheered on his hometown Browns.
In his forties he found and married the love of his life, Becky. He reflected that his happiest day occurred when his daughter, Ally Michelle, was born. Following the premature death of Becky, Mitch nurtured Ally as a single parent for many years.
Mitch is survived by his three children: Ally Fagans (Alex Espenlaub), Heather Clark and Travis Fisher (Dani); four grandchildren: Dominick and Brooke Wike, Laurianna and Roman Fisher; his mother, Alicia A. Fagans; and his brother, Marty Fagans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky; his father, Pete; and his brother, Michael P. Fagans.
A celebration of Mitch's life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
