Nancy (Swope) Buchanan, Age 99

After a long illness, Nancy passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025 at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, where she had been a resident since the spring of 2015. She was born on October 18, 1925, to  Marion and George Swope, and lived her entire life in Hollidaysburg, which she loved dearly. Known to all as a warm, kind person, with a ready smile and an open heart, she was predeceased by husband, Randy Buchanan, to whom she was married from June 18, 1950 until his death in 2006.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend and is survived by a sister Marion Elizabeth (Betsy) VanAlstyne, her four children: Kate Nicklas (Paul), Doug Buchanan (Lynn), Philip Buchanan and Bruce Buchanan (Carla), along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Nancy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg, where she worshipped regularly for many years. There will be a private funeral service, and a family celebration of Nancy's life.

The family encourages contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, in Nancy's memory.
