Naomi Ruth (Sheterom) Beach, 80, of Roaring Spring, passed away Thursday at her residence. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Wilbert and Josephine (Gibson) Sheterom.
She married Pastor James L. Beach, who preceded her in death in 2020 after 61 years of marriage.
Surviving are four daughters: Brenda Worley of Martinsburg, Susan Mohr and husband Scott of Bakers Summit, Mary Grace Vinson in MD, and Melody Messersmith of Everett; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Barry of Altoona; a brother, G. Scott Lee of Oakland; and a special caregiver, Mindy Wagner.
Naomi Ruth was preceded by two daughters: Ruth A. in 1992, and Debra Meade in 2021; her step-father, Edward Lee; a son-in-law, Gene Worley; siblings: Joann Fornwalt and Richard Sheterom.
She graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1958 and attended PSU Altoona.
Naomi Ruth was a member of Morrison Cove Baptist Church, where she formerly served as Pastor’s wife, Church Secretary, a Sunday School Teacher, and Event Organizer.
She enjoyed gardening and taking road trips with her husband, and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 2-4pm Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Morrison Cove Baptist Church, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 4pm. Pastor Aaron Musselman officiating. Interment at Dry Run Cemetery.
