Norma G. (Gardner) Wyerman, 95, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late George and Viola (Snively) Gardner. She married William Vogel, who preceded her in death and then Stanley Wyerman, who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two step-children: Nancy Webster of Altoona and Richard Wyerman of Doylestown; three step-grandchildren: Maxwell, Ian, and Kristin; a great-grandson, Skyler; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Gardner.
Norma graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1944 and from Parson’s School of Design, Eastern School for Physician’s Aides, and Penn State Altoona. She worked for many years as a Physician’s Assistant.
Norma was a member of the Altoona Civic Symphony. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Women’s Association.
Norma was a Past Matron of Lewistown Chapter 283 Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Past President of the Mifflin-Juniata Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Women’s Club of Altoona, Blair County Literacy Council, and the Robert Burns Society.
She held membership in the Jaffa Shrine Widow’s Association, Penn State Alumni Association, Friends of the Altoona Library, Blair County Historical Society, Park Hills Country Club, Art in Common, and the Hollidaysburg Area High School Alumni Association,
Norma was an artist and enjoyed writing poetry.
Friends will be received from 3 to 4pm Monday June 13, 2022, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 4pm.
Interment at Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery.
