Omer W. Hazlett Sr.

Aug. 7, 1929 - Jan. 14, 2020 Omer W. Hazlett Sr., 90, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born at home in Blue Knob, son of the late Omer and Emma (Bowser) Hazlett. He married Harriet C. Dunmire in 1950, and she preceded him in death 2019. Surviving are his daughters: Sally Heinman and husband, Ed, in Georgia, Debbie Ulicne and husband, John, of Lakemont, and Christine Swope and husband, Rodney, of Roaring Spring; his sons: Omer Jr. and wife, Linda, of Duncansville, and Steven and wife, Sharon, of Cresson; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and his brothers: Earl of East Freedom and Ralph of Turkey Valley. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Fry Metals after 21 years as a press operator. Omer enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing, and feeding wildlife.
