Patricia "Patsy" Ann (Straw) Gallagher

January 5, 1932 – June 2, 2026

Patricia Ann (Patsy) Gallagher, 94, of Hollidaysburg died Tuesday morning June 2, 2026. She was born in Clearfield, PA, daughter of the late Walter and Natalie Straw. She married Joseph V. Gallagher on July 18, 1953 in Hollidaysburg. Joseph passed away on March 28, 2021. 

Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

Surviving are her seven children including Paul (Anne), Susan Johnston (Donald), Stephen (Susan), Kathleen Dobbins (Dennis), John (Patricia), Richard (Elaine) and Laurie Barr (Joseph); twenty-five grandchildren including Sarah, Joe, Annie, Scott, Bridget, Colleen, Erin, Kathleen, Kylie, Sean, Brenna, Mollie, Patrick, Katie, Ryan, Colin, Grace, Danny, Kaylie, Jacob, Trent, Rachel, Shannon, Elizabeth, and Michael; and twenty-seven great grandchildren and counting. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joanne Straw and many nieces and nephews. 

Patsy was preceded in death by her brother Robert Straw. 

She was a member of Saint John the EvangelistCatholic Church in Lakemont. 

Patsy graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1949 and the Altoona School of Commerce in 1951. She worked as the principal’s secretary at Hollidaysburg High School prior to raising her children. Patsy served as the receptionist/secretary at the Blair Raquet Club for more than twenty years. 

She was a member of the YMCA Auxiliary and the Friends of the Library. Following her retirement she was a volunteer at Garvey Manor. 

Patsy and Joe were married for more than 67 years when Joe passed away. They loved spending time together with their large family. They also enjoyed the company of many wonderful friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Celebration Village and AseraCare Hospice for taking such great care of our beloved mother.

Friends will be received from 2 to 5pm Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., where a Vigil service will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on 11am Friday, June 5, 2026 at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont.

Private interment will be held at Alto Reste Park.
