Philip A. Benton, 90, formerly of Willoughby, OH, passed away Thursday at Greystone Manor Bellmeade. He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Arthur and Sadie (Pringle) Benton.
Surviving are two sisters: Carol A. Benton of Hollidaysburg, and Kay L. Benton of Duncansville; and a special golf friend, Sallie Treese.
Philip graduated from Hollidaysburg HS in 1953, served in the US Army for two years, then his work took him to Ohio.
He was a Past Grand Knight of a Knights of Columbus Council in Ohio, and was of the Catholic faith.
Philip enjoyed golfing and was very proud of his hole-in-one. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his Ohio friends. He was very happy with the excellent care and compassionate staff at Greystone Manor Bellmeade and Bristol Hospice.
