Ray E. Hoffman Jr.

Ray E. Hoffman Jr., 72, of Duncansville, passed away Saturday at his residence. He was born in West Reading, son of the late Ray Sr. and Elsie (Dietrich) Hoffman.

Surviving are a sister, Karen Harnish (Kenneth) of Myerstown; his companion, Sheldon Gray of Duncansville; a niece, Jessica A. (Shawn) Harnish of Richland; a nephew, Joshua R. Harnish (Kristen) of Myerstown; and two great nieces: Madison K. and Jocelyn A. Harnish.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David in 2021.

Ray graduated from Hamburg Area HS in 1970 and obtained his bachelor’s degree in library science from Millersville University in 1974. He also obtained his master’s degree.

He was employed by AAHS for 35 years as the head librarian.

Ray was an accomplished pianist.

He loved collecting antiques, reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling to Paris and New York City.
