Raymond D. Berkhimer

June 21, 1948 – Aug 1, 2025

Raymond D. Berkhimer, 77, of Blue Knob, passed away Friday at his residence. He was born in Portage Twp., son of the late Clyde and Gloria (Sendzick). He married Linda Gouse in 1970, In Winchester, VA, followed by a marriage ceremony at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Portage, PA.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years; three sons: Jason, Matthew, and wife, Michelle, and Brian and wife, Darci; 4 grandchildren: Austin, Kenedi, Aubree, and Lanee; two brothers: David and Alan; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Ann and Roxanne; a brother, Alvin; grandparents, Elmer and Annie.

He was a graduate of Portage Area High School and obtained an associate’s degree in electrical engineering from Penn State Altoona.

Raymond was a US Navy Veteran and retired from Penelec after 33 years as an Electrical Engineer.

He was a member of the Summit Lodge #312, Jaffa Shrine, Jaffa Legion of Honor, Jaffa Road Runners, and Order of Quetzalcoatl.

Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and bowling.

Friends will be received from 4-7pm, Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.

Private interment at Mt. Hope Blue Knob Cemetery.
