Regina Marie “Jeanie” (Weible) Steiner went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday. She was born in Duncansville, the daughter of Philip and Gertrude (Barrett) Weible.
She graduated from Hollidaysburg High School. On December 1, 1946, she married Peter F. Steiner whom she met while working at Boyer Candy Factory in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Jeanie displayed the heart of a servant, lovingly caring for everyone she met, but especially devoted to her Lord and to her family. Her life was exemplary of hard work, extreme generosity, a quick sense of humor and unmatched humility. She served in her church as a Sunday School teacher and provided leadership in the development and service of the nursery program as well as the Daily Vacation Bible School program. Most recently, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Altoona. She exemplified the noble woman of Proverbs 31 of whom it is said, “Her children arise and call her blessed … charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Surviving are five children: Gary (wife Cheryl) Steiner of Hollidaysburg; Shelley Steiner of Hagerstown, Maryland; Kevin (wife Debbie) Steiner of Bellwood; Todd Steiner of Hollidaysburg; and Lisa Steiner Shaw (husband Mark) of Jefferson Hills, and 10 grandchildren, 25 great grand-children, and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years in 2020, her brother William Weible in 1993, and a son Peter Greg Steiner in 1971.
A private graveside service will be held. No public viewing nor services are planned at this time.
