Richard E. Auerbeck II, 64, of Altoona passed away September 27, 2025. Born September 22, 1961, in Cherry Point, NC, he was the son of the late Richard E. and Cecelia Auerbeck.
A proud U.S. Marine (1980–1984), Richard later worked 31 years as a cook at the Hiram G. Andrews Center, retiring in 2019. He married Beverly (Amigh) Auerbeck on April 14, 1986, and together they raised three children: Tyler (Alison Woods) Auerbeck, Brittany Auerbeck, and Krista Auerbeck. He was a loving grandfather to Amelia Auerbeck and Emma Martin. His faithful dogs, Milo and Bunny, never left his side.
Richard is also survived by siblings Kelly (Auerbeck) McMullen and John Auerbeck, and many nieces and nephews (and a sack of potatoes). He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen (Auerbeck) Pasley.
He loved fishing, motorcycles, and, most of all, time with his family.
The family wishes to thank caregiver Brandon Pote for his dedicated care in recent years.
A celebration of life will be held at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg on Monday, October 6 from 12-2pm and again at 5-7pm.
Semper Fi Marine.
