Richard "Dick" L. Baughman, 91, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at The Winds at Mattern Orchard. He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late H. Thomas and Anna (Isenberg) Baughman. He married Barbara Oler, who preceded him in death in 2020 after sharing 62 years of marriage.
Surviving are three daughters: Constance, Debra Wimbrow and husband Steven, and Lisa Ledbetter and husband Dennis; two sons: James and Jeffrey and wife, Ashli; and nine grandchildren: Karlee, Kimber Jr., Erika, Ashleigh, Adam, Thaddeus, Colleen, Caroline, and Finley.
Richard graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1951 and immediately joined the army. He served as a Communications/Radio Controller, stationed in Italy during the Korean Conflict. He was very proud of his military service. After returning home, he was hired by Bell Telephone where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 1989.
He was an avid sports fan, which led him to work at the Altoona Curve games from the first opening day and for the following 15 years.
Dick was a member of the PA Bell Telephone Pioneers, local Rotary clubs, and a long time member of Summit Country Club.
Friends will be received from 10am- noon on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor James Zaebst officiating.
