Richard W. Gardner Sr., 80, of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday at his residence with his wife by his side. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harry and Louise (Shaw) Gardner. Richard married Gail Dively in 1961.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years; a daughter, Lisa Jones (Chip) of Williamsburg; four grandsons: Brad, Zachary, Alec, and Trey; three great grandchildren: Hailee, Haiden, and Waylon; and two brothers: Donnie and Charles.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky in 1996; three sisters: Katherine, Betty, and Helen; and a brother, Frank.
He graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1959. Richard served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired from F. L. Smith Machine Co. He attended West Loop Missionary Church and Heritage Baptist Church.
Richard enjoyed restoring old cars and riding horses.
Friends will be received from 10 to 12pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at West Loop Missionary Church, Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm, officiated by Pastor Terry Farr.
Interment at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
