Richard C. Johnson

November 1, 1941 – January 29, 2021

Richard C. “Dick” Johnson, 79, of Altoona, went home to be with his LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday.  He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles and Marian (Schmelzlen) Johnson.  On June 4, 1983, he married Jeannie McIntire.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; a daughter, Elizabeth (Lucas) Mearkle, and three grandchildren:  Alexis, Adam, and Brycen.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David, in 2019.

Dick graduated from Altoona Area High School, Class of 1959.  After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he became owner/operator of R.C. Johnson Trucking.  He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Hollidaysburg.  In his free time, Dick enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and driving his truck.
