Richard K. Shaw

Richard K. Shaw, 74, of Lakemont, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Samuel F. and Ruth (Figart) Shaw. He married Carol McMullen in 1990.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years; three daughters: Lorrie Shaw, Tia Kent (David), Jamie Dean (Michael); five grandchildren: Hannah, David, Julianna, Sandra, and Janelle; two sisters: Patricia A. Shaw, and Nancy Saxen; a brother, William E. Shaw; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, and was a Certified Welding Inspector and Superintendent for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 154. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and drag racing for the past 40 years. He enjoyed NASCAR and Steelers football.

Richard will always be remembered for his strength, loving kindness, welcoming presence, and his unforgettable laugh. He enjoyed family get-togethers and spending time with his grandchildren.

All services are private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A private funeral service will be live streamed at www.sorgefuneralhome.com at 1pm on Monday, Feb 8, 2021. Pastor Stewart W. McClelland officiating. Interment at Alto Reste Park.
