Robert J. Allen
July 1, 1931 – December 21, 2025
Robert J. Allen, 94, of Hollidaysburg passed away on Sunday at his home. He was born in Mt. Carmel, PA, the son of the late George and Anna (Matty) Allen. He married Catherine M. Corbacio on May 10, 1958, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.
Surviving are his three daughters, Georgette Anspach, wife of deceased husband, Jeff Anspach, and deceased companion, Ed Del Vecchio; Michele Brown and husband Tony; Crista Coleman and husband Ron; and son Bob and wife Chris. He is also survived by two sisters, Anna Mae Millard and Helen Leach; eight grandchildren, Nicolas Anspach; Walker Allen, Casey Allen, Emma Brown, Ronnie Coleman, Jack Coleman, Samuel Coleman and Nathaniel Coleman; and two great grandchildren, Ollie and Ajla Anspach.
He was preceded in death by brother George and grandson Dylan Allen.
Bob was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955. He enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police on April 9, 1956, until his retirement on April 8, 1991. Throughout his 35 years of service with the Pennsylvania State Police, he received a number of awards for his performance of duty which included:
State Policeman of the Year – 1966
American Legion Medal of Valor (highest award) – 1967
American Legion Medal of Merit – 1967
U.S. Federation of Police Awards, Washington, D.C. – 1968
WHUN Huntington County “Man of the Year” – 1966
Mount Carmel Rotary Club Award – 1969
Bishop Garvey General Assembly Knights of Columbus, Trooper of the Year – 1967
Bob also was a 1979 graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy; member of the Fraternal Order of Police; member of the American Legion Post 516; Pennsylvania Retired State Police Association; American Association of State Troopers; and the F.B.I. National Academy.
Bob enjoyed golfing with his friends and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He especially enjoyed playing pinochle with his beloved wife.
Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, PA.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, with Father Alan E. Thomas, Celebrant.
The Committal service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St. Peter Cemetery in Mt. Carmel.
