Robert D. “Beatle” Beatty, 81, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clair and Alma (Shinafelt) Beatty. He married Shirley Wood in 1961. Surviving are his wife of 60 years; a son, Robert E. and wife, Tina of Hollidaysburg; two grandsons: Cody and Brad; three brothers: Don, David, and Walter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Smiach, and a brother, Richard.
Beatle served in the Army National Guard and retired as a truck driver. He and his son restored a classic Peterbilt, and he enjoyed taking their truck to truck shows, and spending time with his family.
All services are private. Cremation service by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
