Robert E. “Butch” Fisher Jr., 76, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Mapleton Depot, passed away Monday at James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center. He was born in Huntingdon, son of the late Robert E. Sr. and Betty M. (Thomas) Fisher. He married Karen Beckwith in 1995.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years; two sons: Scott in OR, and Brent in Washington DC; a sister, Sandra McClain of Orbisonia; a brother, Gary of Mapleton Depot; nieces, nephews, two great-nephews, and a great-niece.
Butch served in the USAF from 1965-1971, and he retired as a supervisor from Labor & Industry. He was Past Exalted Ruler of Huntingdon Elks Lodge 976. Butch was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, college sports, and the Altoona Curve.
A private funeral service will be streamed at 10:00 am Friday, July 17, 2020 at www.sorgefuneralhome.com, with James G. Young officiating. Interment at Mapleton IOOF Cemetery.
