Aug 9, 1944 – June 14, 2024
Robert F. George, 79, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday at his residence. He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Tickerhoof) George. He married Elizabeth (Hazenstab) Sutton in 1991.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years; three daughters: Jacqueline Amick (Joel), Lisa Foor (Roger), and Bridget Sutton Fulmer (Roger); a son, Robert Sutton; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary Lou Campbell and Peggy Walters (Ron).
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert F. George Jr. and a brother, Joseph L. George III.
Bob graduated from Cresson Joint High School in 1963 and completed his education in Business Management.
He worked for Prudential, Brumbaugh Associates, and was an independent financial advisor.
Bob was a member of Trout Unlimited, Project Healing Waters, Puzzletown Road Bible Church Men’s Bible Study, and St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry. He was very proud of his sobriety for 42 years.
He loved fly fishing, drag racing, his dog, Rita, and spending time with his beloved family.
Friends will be received from 1 to 5pm Monday June 17, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. Friends will also be received from 10 to 11am Tuesday June 18, 2024, until the 11am funeral Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry.
