Robert G. Harpster Jr., 80, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert Sr. and Ruth (Walker) Harpster. He married Pattie Markley in 1987.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years; a daughter, Barbara Harpster of Duncansville; three sons: Tom of Altoona, James Shelow and fiancé Nicole of Hollidaysburg, and Kris Shelow of Duncansville; six grandchildren: Katharine, Emily, Ally, Bella, Julia, and Grace; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Botteicher.
He graduated from Altoona High School in 1960 and retired from Bell Telephone Co. after 29 years as a store keeper.
Bob attended St. John’s Reformed Church and volunteered at the Father’s House food pantry.
He enjoyed spending time with his breakfast friends and with his family.
Friends will be received from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm with Pastor Norm Saylor officiating. Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
