Dec 23, 1932 – July 30, 2025
Robert L. Irwin, 92, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday evening at his residence. He was born in Houtzdale, son of the late Paul and Helen (Carey) Irwin. He married Louise Campbell in 1959.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years; a son, Robert Irwin and wife, Patricia of Slatington; son – in- law: David Kozlowski; 4 grandchildren: Matthew (Kim), Stephen, Christopher, and Rebecca; one great-granddaughter, Mia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul in 1962; a daughter, Lori Kozlowski in 2017; and siblings: John, Margaret, and Jane.
Bob was a 1950 graduate of Osceola Mills High School. He graduated from Franklin School of Science and Arts in Philadelphia, PA and attended Penn State.
Bob served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman during the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the Altoona VA Hospital after 30 plus years and then worked at Warner’s Florist.
Bob was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6pm Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Monday, August 4, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Alan E. Thomas, Celebrant. Committal at Calvary Cemetery.
