Robert F. Tyack, 64 of Altoona, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday at UPMC Altoona, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Fern Daugherty.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Judy (Reffner); two daughters: Renee Smith and husband Jim, BobbyJo and husband, Kevin Gates; a son, Shawn; a step daughter, Karen Bogel; 3 grandchildren: Kevin, Jessica, and Isabel, and many great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary Caruso, Lucinda Lamca, Connie Carey, David Daugherty, Christopher Buckreis; and an Aunt, Mary Weko.
Bob was preceded in death by a brother, William, and a grandson, Justin Hardin. He was a 1973 graduate of Altoona High School, and was a gifted carpenter. Bob enjoyed fixing broken things and was known as “Bob-the-Builder.” He enjoyed animals, watching movies, playing darts, and spending time with his family.
