Robert Wingard Obituary

Robert G. Wingard, 73, Duncansville, passed away Sunday at his residence after an illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Gerald S. and Lillian T. (Fuchsgruber) Wingard. He married Linda Jane Love in 1974.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years; a daughter, Krista Wingard of Camp Hill; a son, Brian and wife, Messina, of New Enterprise; two granddaughters: Paige Elizabeth and Sierra Nicole; a sister, Mary Ann Wingard of Altoona; and a brother, John “Jack” in New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Wingard.

Robert was a 1965 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. He was a four-year veteran in the U.S. Air Force, serving as an airplane mechanic at Danang Air Base during Vietnam. He retired from the USPS as a letter carrier in Camp Hill for 40 years.

He was a member of Camp Hill Church of God and attended Grace Family Bible Church in Duncansville. He was a member of the Civil War Round Table in Camp Hill

Robert enjoyed hunting, history and being outdoors.

Memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
