Ronald L. Filer

April 18, 1932 – Nov. 6, 2025 

Ronald L. Filer, 93, of Hollidaysburg passed away on Thursday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Gordon L. and Dorothy C. (Ricketts) Filer. Ronald married Dolores “Dee” (Criste) Miller Filer in 1984, who preceded him in death in 2009 after sharing 25 years of marriage.  

Ronald is survived by his children; Bill and wife Dawn, Betsy Ellis and husband Wayne, Brian and wife Kathleen, and Belinda and partner Michael. Also surviving are his step-children; Bill Miller and wife Connie, Bob Miller, Vickie Woomer and husband Denny, Terrie Gigliotti and Pattie Gorski and husband Jim; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his sister Linda and two great grandchildren.  

Ronald was an active member of the Horseshoe Chorus. He loved spending time with his dog Joey.  

All services are private at Sorge Funeral Home. 

Private interment at New St. Mary’s Cemetery.
