HT 1 Ruben E. Morado Sr. U.S. Navy went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday. He was born in Ogden, Utah, son of the late Guadalupe R. and Marion (Hiser) Morado.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Robert McGregor; and two sisters: Norma McKinney and Gloria Kane.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Alice (Snyder), of Duncansville; children: Kelly Schroer (James) in Centralia, IL., Ruben Jr. “RJ” of Duncansville, and Chalina Morado in Fort Walton Beach, FL.; two grandchildren: Olivia and Jared Schroer; a great granddaughter, Evangeline Schroer; 3 sisters: Lydia Morado, Belinda Tipton, and Cheryl Zlokas; 5 brothers: David, Pete, Luis, and George Morado and Richard McGregor. He also leaves beind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Also two very special ones, Haydyn and Hoyt Snyder, who enjoyed spending time and camping with him.
Ruben served his country in the U.S. Navy retiring December 31, 1996. He saw many commands to include the USS El Paso, USS Coontz, SIMA Norfolk, USS Platte, SIMA Pascagoula, where he was a plank-owner and most notable the USS Yosemite where he met Alice.
After leaving the Navy Ruben worked for Alabama shipyard for several years as a welder and shipfitter. He then went on to Wayne Dalton Doors in Pensacola where he remained until 2012 when he moved with his family to PA. He retired as a laborer from MCS in 2018.
Ruben enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and camping with his small, but great group of campers. He also enjoyed woodwork and diamond art, until his health declined.
Ruben attended New Hope Baptist Church in Duncansville.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 3pm at New Hope Baptist Church, Duncansville.
Ruben will be greatly missed by many.
