Russell D. Greaser Sr., 92, of Duncansville, passed away Saturday at his residence. He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Paul and Florence (Detwiler) Greaser. He married Loretta Appleby in 1959.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years; three sons: Russell Jr. and wife Shelda of Altoona, Scott and wife Beth in WV, and Timothy and wife Betty of Altoona; six grandchildren: Ryan, Morgan, Lydia, Adam, Lindsay, and Mitchell, and three great-grandchildren: Addison, Ellie, and Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Emily, Paul, Donald, Ted, and Joanne.
Russell graduated from Hollidaysburg HS in 1952 and served in the US Army in Germany.
He retired as an Electric Systems Operator after 41 years with Butterick-Vogue Co.
Russell was an active member of First Presbyterian Church , where he served as a Deacon and Elder.
He enjoyed volunteering at Conemaugh Nason Hospital, Meals on Wheels of Blair County, and Family Services of Blair County. He also enjoyed remodeling, gardening, golfing, his backyard fish pond, watching the Pirates and Steelers, and attending generations of family sporting events.
Friends will be received from 10am to 12 noon on Monday May 18, 2026 at Sorge Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., where a memorial service with military honors will follow at 12 noon.
Private interment at Presbyterian Cemetery.
