Sandra L. (Rhodes) Detwiler

Sandra L. (Rhodes) Detwiler, 78, of Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Shadyside.  She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Vernon and Irene (Koscinski) Rhodes.  She married Edward J. Detwiler, who preceded her in death in 2021 after sharing 24 years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters: Diana Worley of Altoona, and Jennifer Cuddington and husband Todd in NC; two step-daughters: Lisa Buchanan and husband Richard of East Freedom, and Renee Detwiler of Roaring Spring; 11 grandchildren: Stefan, Emily, Matthew, Joseph, Cassie, Lexie, Kearston, Trenton, Tristan, Zachary, and Rori; and three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Janice Strohmeyer and Gayle Goshorn; and a brother William Rhodes.

Sandy graduated from Altoona High School in 1964.

She managed Susan’s Hallmark for many years, then she retired from Domestic Relations at the Blair County Courthouse after 20+ years.

Sandy enjoyed watching Jeopardy, visiting Amish markets, and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm on Friday Dec 27, 2024 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 4pm.
