Sandra Starr Romano, 64, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at her residence.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Peter Sr. and Sally (Ickes) Kennedy.
Surviving are two daughters: Sarah and Ashton Romano; one grandson, Levi; a sister, Colleen Ehredt (Duane Sr.) and nieces and nephews.
Starr graduated Altoona Area High School in 1976, became an LPN in 1980 at the Altoona Vo-Tech, then graduated from Mt. Aloysius 1989 with an AS in nursing.
She worked as an RN for many years at Bon Secours and retired from UPMC Altoona.
Starr was a former Vice President of the Altoona Nurses Union, officer of the Nurse Alliance of S.E.I.U, and an elected member of the Blair County Democratic Committee.
She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, activism, and taking her grandson to see trains.
Friends will be received 10am to noon Thursday September 14, 2023, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg where a memorial service will immediately follow at noon.
