Shirley K. (Kaufman) Zeek

Shirley J. (Kaufman) Zeek, 89, Duncansville, died Friday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.

She was born at home in Cross Keys, daughter of the late David A. and Elvaline (Brubaker) Kaufman. She married James S. Zeek in 1957. He preceded her in death in 2002.

Surviving are four sons: David J. and Bob L. of Hollidaysburg, Richard E. and wife, Rebecca, of Duncansville and Dewey and wife, Deb, of Altoona; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Jane Kaufman of Duncansville.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Jim, Merle and Kenneth.

She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and retired from Veeder-Root. She was a life member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren where she was a member of Women's Work Fellowship.

Shirley enjoyed baking, fishing and flower gardening.

Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
