Susan R. (Keech) Claar, 50, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Ray and Lorraine (Casciotti) Keech. She married the love of her life Richard Claar in 2003.
Surviving are her husband of 18 years; a daughter, Megan; a son, Evan; a sister, Jennifer Zimmerman and husband Gary of Hollidaysburg; a niece, Leah, and 4 nephews: Adam, Luke, Ben, and Joey; special Aunts and an Uncle; cousins; her in-laws, Richard and Dottie; and many close friends.
Sue graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1988, and from UPJ with a BS in Elementary Education.
For 25 years, as an Elementary School Teacher in the Spring Cove School District, she touched so many.
Sue was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where she taught CCD.
She loved travelling, reading, writing stories and poetry, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, and winning at the casinos. But, more than anything, she loved being with her family and friends.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday April 30, 2021, at St. Michael Catholic Church, with Fr. Alan Thomas Celebrant. Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
