Susan I. (Wilt) Painter, 72, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at UPMC Shadyside. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret (Greiner) Wilt. She married Wally Painter in 2000.
Surviving are her husband of 24 years; numerous grandchildren; a brother, Michael W. Wilt (Jennifer); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Wilt II.
Susan graduated from Hollidaysburg HS, and later graduated from Pittsburgh University.
She was a school teacher for 30 years in the Catholic School system.
Susan was a member and vice-regent of the Catholic Daughters of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Court #1755 of America, and also was a member of Connies Collectible’s quilting club. She was the Judge of Precinct 3 for the borough of Hollidaysburg.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Susan enjoyed sewing, quilting, and loved her cats very much.
Friends will be received 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral Mass will be held at St Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, PA on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 10am.
Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
