Thomas J. Kunkle

July 27, 1943 - Nov 18, 2025 

Thomas J. Kunkle, 82, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday. He was born in Bethlehem, son of the late Robert and Claire (Koch) Kunkle. He married Dianne Mock in 1995.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years; two daughters: Beth Bronson and husband, Kevin, and Mindy Moore and husband, Matt; a son, Joseph and wife Monica; a step-son, Dustin Conner and wife, Gayle; five grandchildren: Aiden, Colt, Macie, Owen, and Rhys; two brothers: Robert and Jack.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy.

Tom graduated from Central Catholic High School and obtained his M.Ed from PSU, then retired as music director at Hollidaysburg Junior High School.

He was a member of Puzzletown Road Bible Church, where he sang in the choir.          

Tom directed the Phillipsburg Community Chorus, Hollidaysburg Alumni Chorus, and the Cove Community Chorus.

Friends will be received from noon to 2pm Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Puzzletown Road Bible Church, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm with Pastor Jon Gross officiating.

Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
