Verna M. (Manna) Lardieri, 90, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at her residence. She was born in Conway, daughter of the late Francesco and Concetta (DePitro) Manna. She married Daniel A. Lardieri, who preceded her in death in 2000 after sharing 31 years of marriage.
Surviving are four daughters: Thina Nale and husband Terry in TX, Rhonda Lardieri of Altoona, Veronica Onkst of Duncansville, and Carmella Lardieri of Duncansville; a son, Edward of Hollidaysburg; nine grandchildren: Trina, Taresa, TJ, Dusty, Ronnie, Edward, Krista, Abraham, and Luke, and eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonita Pacovsky; a brother, Ted Manna; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death in by a son, Ronald Fitzgerald; a granddaughter, Roxanne Turiano; siblings: Connie Walko, John Manna, Joseph Manna, Frank Manna, Nick Manna, Billy Manna, Tulio Manna, and Edward Manna; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Lardieri.
Verna graduated from Conway High School around 1952 and retired as a nurse’s aide from Blair Christian Home.
She enjoyed playing BINGO and pinochle, polka dancing, and watching all major sporting events. Verna was extremely passionate about baseball and could rattle off stats of her favorite teams. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking Sunday family dinners.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gates and the staff at 365 Hospice, and her nurse, Joe, for their exceptional care.
