Walter C. Baronner, 73, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at Cambria Care Center. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Thomas J. and Manulita (Noel) Baronner. Surviving are four sisters: Patricia Yeatts in CA, Janice Johnston in NY, Genny Taylor in WA, and Joanne in NY; and four brothers: Martin of Duncansville, Dave of Altoona, Paul of Bellwood, and Michael of Hollidaysburg. Walt was preceded in death by siblings: Carol Burns, Lloyd, and Leo.
On his way to the Alaska oil line, he stopped in California, where he “dug the scene.” He worked as a kitchen worker and became a hippie motorcyclist until an accident where he became disabled. Walt was a lover of motorcycles, telling elephant jokes, and telling stories. He was a kind, loving, generous person who touched many lives.
Friends will be received from 4-7pm on Thursday, Nov 19, 2020 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm with Alan E. Thomas officiating. Committal at New St. Mary Cemetery.
