Walter K. Focht

July 10, 1941 – Oct 15, 2023

Walter K. Focht, 82, of Hollidaysburg, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday.

He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late George M. and Thelma F. (Gates) Focht.  He married Judy Hileman, his high school sweetheart, in 1960.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years; a daughter, Cynthia Wood and husband Dean of Hollidaysburg; a son, Rev. Joseph and wife Jeanne in Nappanee, IN; 6 grandchildren: Jessica, Josylnn, Jill, Jared, Eli, Isaac; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Bonnie Moyer, Connie Hartman, Peggy Bottenfield.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Wilbur, and George.

Walt graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1959 and served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

He retired from the PA State Police after 27 years as a Trooper and was a member of Iron Masters Country Club, Sylvan Hills Golf Course, and the FOP Lodge 57.

Walt was a member of Grace Bible Church.

He loved golf, hunting, fishing, and his Wednesday morning work crew at Grace Bible Church.  He loved his family very much.

Friends will be received from 10am to 12pm Friday October 20, 2023 at Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service with Military Honors will immediately follow at 12pm.  Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
