Wilbur D. McConnell Sr.

April 2, 1968 – June 8, 2026

Wilbur D. McConnell Sr., 58, of Altoona went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday. He was born in Altoona, son of Thelma G. (Miller) and the late Charles R. McConnell Sr.

Surviving are a son, Wilbur Jr. (Molly) of Altoona; a granddaughter, Ruby Sue; his mother of Altoona; eight sisters: Vickie Nagle (Rick) of Duncansville, Teresa McConnell in FL, Joanie Southard (Larry) in AK, Sarah McConnell (Bill) of Hawley, Sandy McConnell, Penny Kissell (Walt), Donna McConnell, and Tammy Conner (Jason), all of Altoona; four brothers: Mike (Ellen) in NC, Fred of Duncansville, Randy (Vonda), and Andy, all of Altoona; and his former wife, Susan McConnell of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by siblings: Joyce, Debbie, and Charles Jr.

Will was co-owner of McConnell’s Garage and owner/operator of McConnell’s Trucking.

He enjoyed driving, fishing with his son, and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 12 noon to 2pm Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Altoona Full Gospel Church, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 2pm.
